Our names are Nikki Römkens and Lieke Peels. We are senior year physiotherapy students at Zuyd University of Applied Sciences in Heerlen (the Netherlands) and we just started with our bachelor thesis.
The topic of our thesis is interactive surfaces. Interactive surfaces might be a promising tool in the future, to improve physical activity in several groups of patients. Recently this technology is introduced within four settings, which are Pergamijn (clients with an intellectual disability), Sevagram (nursing home), Mondriaan (clients with psychiatric disorders) and Adelante (rehabilitation centre). Our study will be based on communities of practice, which is used to provide a way for practitioners to share tips and best practices, ask questions to their colleagues, and provide support for each other.
